The WOW YOU! Conference was developed when Tennessee State University student J'Karlon Harrison decided that she wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of teenage girls and her college aged peers. Academically and socially J'Karlon found herself very prepared for her freshman year at college. She was in good academic standing, a dancer with the Aristocrats of Bands, a member of TSU's poetry club and the L.Y.L.A.S. volunteer organization. College also opened her eyes to the realization that she had a lot to learn about life.  She was clearer than ever that the decisions she makes now will impact her later.

In speaking with her peers and after teaching a summer dance class for high school students she knew that there was a need for young women to gather, share experiences and obtain new information that will help them grow and move forward.  She enlisted her aunt to help design, develop and co-produce the 2016 WOW YOU! Conference. She hopes to establish WOW YOU! annually in Atlanta and in Nashville.
